Where The Colour Sits

The colour moves between mint and a deeper blue-green depending on the angle and the lamp. The video is the only fair way to see the whole of that range at once.

Long Steps, Clipped Corners

The facets are long flat steps running parallel to the edges, with the corners cut off. That is a step cut: fewer and broader flashes than a brilliant, and a clear view into the stone.

Each corner is held by a pair of claws rather than one, which is how a stone this size is kept steady. Those claws are the only metal touching the face of the stone.

Nothing Behind It

Seen through the shank, the back is completely open. The pavilion drops straight into the gap, so light passes through the stone instead of bouncing off a plate.

The Colour You Will Get

In daylight the stone reads mint green. Under a warmer lamp it deepens and moves towards blue-green, which is the colour in the three-quarter shots.

It does not read as blue at any angle in these photographs. If blue is what you are after, this is not that stone.
