Customise this pieceEleven Carats, One Stone
A stone this size does not sit still to the eye. The film is the quickest way to judge whether the scale is the scale you want.
Front on, the stone is a touch wider than it is tall, which is what keeps a heart cut from looking pinched. The cleft is cut deep and even on both sides.
On a dark ground the stone reads as outline and flash rather than as a block of white. This is roughly how it behaves against a dark dress in low light.
Warm surroundings pull a faint cream tone across the face of the stone. That is a colourless stone photographed in warm light, not a tinted one.
The back of the setting is pierced in a heart. Light reaches the stone from behind as well as in front, so it does not go flat when it turns against a collar.
Worn, the pendant hangs just below the hollow of the throat and reads as a clear single shape against the skin. It is one stone doing all of the work, with no smaller stones around it to pad out the size.
The setting holds the stone clear of the bail, so it swings a little as you move instead of sitting locked in one position.
