Still photographs flatten a stone this wide. The video turns the ring through a light so its size can be read against the band and against a finger.
From the side the shank stays narrow the whole way round and only widens where it meets the claws. Nothing is set on the shoulders.
The back is open. The basket is a plain square frame with four claws folded over the corners, and the band is flat where it rests on the finger.
Close up, the facets run as long parallel steps towards the centre rather than scattering into small flashes. The corners are cropped at a shallow angle.
The stone covers much of the width of the finger and sits at its base rather than up against the knuckle. It is set low enough to clear a hand going into a pocket.
The band is plain and even in section, with no shoulders to step over.
