Moissanite is one of the hardest gemstones and has more fire and brilliance than diamond (2.42 refractive index, 0.044 dispersion).
Moissanite was first identified in 1893 by Nobel laureate Henri Moissan, in meteorite fragments from Arizona's Canyon Diablo crater. Natural moissanite is so rare that the stones in fine jewellery today are created in a lab.

This stone is not one blue. In daylight it reads steel blue with grey through it; under a warm lamp it deepens and the centre goes close to navy. The video shows both.
Against white the stone reads a mid steel-blue, darker through the centre where the facets stack. The band is plain, round in section, and the same white-silver as the claws.
From behind, nothing sits under the stone except the claws and a narrow rail. The band runs unbroken all the way round, with no small stones along the shoulders.
Shot against warm lights the blue holds instead of washing out, and the pavilion reads darker than the crown. The metal stays white-silver even with warm light on it.
Seen from the side, the band stays thin and round all the way to the head, then turns up into the claws with no step and no cathedral rise. There is nothing underneath to lift the stone.
That keeps the profile low. A ring built this way slides under a glove and sits close against the next finger rather than standing proud of it.
