Yes — and measurably so. At smaller sizes (under 3ct), the visual difference between moissanite and diamond fire is subtle in casual viewing. As stones scale above 5ct, moissanite's dispersion advantage (0.104 vs diamond's 0.044) becomes increasingly apparent: the rainbow fire flashes become larger, more colourful, and more dramatic. At 8.3ct DEW and 13.5mm diameter, moissanite's fire operates at a scale where individual coloured flashes span millimetres — clearly visible across a room, clearly visible in photography, and clearly distinctive from the more restrained fire of a natural diamond. Moissanite at 9.25 Mohs hardness requires minimal special care compared to softer gemstones. However, at 8.3ct DEW, this stone has significant surface area that benefits from regular cleaning — light residue from hand creams, soaps, and natural oils dulls brilliance more noticeably at this size than at smaller sizes simply because more surface is affected. Clean with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush monthly, or use an ultrasonic cleaner (moissanite is safe in ultrasonic cleaners). Store in a soft pouch or box when not worn. Avoid wearing during heavy manual work — not because moissanite is fragile, but because a 13.5mm stone can be physically awkward in certain activities.
