A Pear Inside A Halo

Turning A Pear Cut

A pear cut has one rounded end and one point. Here the point sits at the top where the chain meets it, and the rounded end hangs below, ringed by the same small stones that run all the way round the centre. The video turns the pendant slowly.

The Outline

Small round stones run the full way round the pear. They are set close enough together that the edge reads as one continuous bright line rather than a row of separate stones.

The Open Back

From behind, the metal is cut away under the centre stone. Ribs cross the opening and the backs of the halo stones sit between them, so light reaches the stone from both sides.

Hung On The Chain

The bail sits at the top of the halo rather than off to one side, so the pendant hangs point up, with the rounded end swinging below and the outline staying square to the chest.

At The Collarbone

Worn, the pendant sits a little below the hollow of the throat and lies flat against the skin rather than standing away from it.

The chain is a fine cable link. It is thin enough that the outline of the halo is the thing you notice first.
