Customise this pieceThe Back Of The Heart
The film moves around the stone rather than holding it still. The cleft at the top and the point at the bottom are where a heart cut either works or does not.
Two claws hold the lobes, two the sides, and two sit either side of the point. The point of a heart cut is its thinnest edge, so it is braced from both flanks rather than clamped at the tip.
The gallery behind the stone is pierced in the same heart shape as the stone itself. It only shows when the pendant turns, which is rather the point of finishing it.
The stone is deep and the setting lifts it clear of the chain. It tips forward a little when worn, so the face of the heart shows rather than its edge.
The bail is split into two loops rather than one. A chain passes through the gap instead of riding on a single ring, so the pendant stays square to the skin rather than turning edge-on.
Nothing on the reverse is left rough. The claws are filed flush and the gallery is polished, so it does not catch on a collar or a fine knit.
